This is one of the Black Swallowtails (Papilio polyxenes) that I raised from a caterpillar. It was a pleasure to watch these guys eat fistfuls of endless dill.

I released most of them, but decided to keep a few for mounting.

They are native to these parts and pretty common so I wouldn’t be surprised if you’ve seen them around in the summer.
