Atlas Moth in Vintage Gold Frame

Atlas Moth in Vintage Gold Frame

$150.00

This is a delicately preserved male Attacus atlas moth from West Java, Indonesia.

They are considered the second largest species of Lepidoptera (butterflies and moths) with the females out-ranging the males in size. They are endemic to tropical portions of Asia and one of the most popular species to breed and export globally. The commercial interest of beautiful moths and butterflies continues to support habitat preservation by providing local economies a financial incentive to keep their forests intact. This is one small part of a larger effort to prevent habitat loss.
